Who Am I

Growing up in Florida, I discovered my passion for both computers and art. After high school, I knew that a career in technology was my path, leading me to pursue web development. However, my journey didn’t stop there—I wanted to find a way to merge my love for art with my technical skills. This led me to explore 3D modeling through Udemy courses, where I began to integrate 3D elements and interactive design into my websites.

My mission is to continue blending creativity with technology, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in web development. I am dedicated to creating visually engaging and interactive experiences that reflect both my artistic vision and technical expertise.

My Journey

Leaving high school, I was uncertain whether I wanted to fully commit to an undergraduate degree in web development or take a self-taught approach. After researching the job market, I decided to find a middle ground. I enrolled at Passaic County Community College to pursue an AAS in Information and Internet Technology – Web and Mobile App Development. Along the way, I met amazing people through the Computer Technology Club, where we explored cutting-edge technologies and competed at Hack Princeton. My time at the college provided me with a solid foundation in full-stack development, preparing me for the workforce.

Hack-Princeton

Hack Princeton is a prestigious programming competition hosted by Princeton University, where students compete to create the best projects within specific categories under tight time constraints. This event not only provides a platform to experiment with new technologies but also offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts. During our Fall 2023 adventure to Hack Princeton, my team and I developed an innovative game using Unity, aimed at teaching the dangers of climate change through a child-friendly experience. I contributed by creating the art and helping to write the story. After a long weekend of hard work, we were thrilled to win the prize for Best Beginner Hack.

Webmaster Internship

One of the many programs at PCCC is the Prosper Program, which is dedicated to helping students currently pursuing an associate degree gain valuable internship experience before enrolling in a bachelor’s program. Through a professor’s recommendation, I was selected to work as the webmaster for the Little Falls Veteran Website, where we blended technology and historical preservation using Omeka to honor our veterans. This role marked my first professional experience in web development, and I am proud to say that I gained invaluable hands-on experience in creating and managing websites for clients.

Continuous Learning

In today’s fast-paced tech world, staying relevant means being a continuous, proactive learner. With new technologies emerging almost every time you blink, it’s crucial to keep honing your skills and advancing your knowledge. Recognizing this need, I dedicated my summer semesters to continuous learning through Udemy courses.

These courses have been instrumental in building a strong foundation in 3D modeling as well as mastering the WordPress Content Management System. By completing courses in high-demand skills, I aim to stand out as a web developer and eventually make a name for myself by seamlessly blending art with technology.

Below, you can find the certifications I’ve earned through Udemy, each representing a step forward in my journey to becoming a well-rounded and innovative web developer.
